Stellenbosch
We then proceed to the oldest winery, Stellenbosch – The Stellenbosch Winelands, only 20 minutes away from the city of Cape Town, offers superb scenery, completely different from the landscape of the Cape Peninsula. Numerous grapes are grown in the region such as Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage, and the Méthode Cap Classique (local champagne). The town of Stellenbosch is a small but very vibrant town with a very famous university and numerous activities such a wine cellar tours and tastings. You will have the opportunity to purchase wines to bring back home to enjoy the region’s wonderful vintages after your visit. Here we will visit Lanzerac Wine Estate, Hazendal Wine Estate, & Delaire Graff Estate.

Lanzerac Wine Estate
A few minutes’ drives from Stellenbosch town center lies Lazerac, it is well known to many as a well-appointed and elegant country hotel resting within the beautiful Jonkershoek valley. But Lanzerac is more than just a hotel. The historic homestead which bears 1830 on its gable and lies on the ground that was given to its first owner 140 years earlier also presides over vineyards and also a winery that together produces excellent wines, both red and white. It is also known to be the first winery to bottle a native South African wine called Pinotage. A bar of chocolate and wine pairing here is conducted by well knowledgeable Sommelier.

Hazendal Wine Estate
The breath-taking Hazendal Wine Estate with its beautiful Landscape art, Pavilion, Marvol Gallery, Wonderdal, wine Library, Jazz Club, etc. Here you will taste award-winning, handcrafted boutique wines and Methode Stellenbosch wine region, you don’t have to worry about your children, Hazendal has a very beautiful Wonderdal Edutainment Centre for Children from 5-13 years’ old which is technologically advanced and Toddlers’ Play Area too. After we leave Hazendal wine estate we will pop in at Delaire Graff Estate a destination for spa and luxury boutiques, here you will be left breathless by the art, architecture, gardens, and food, taste their award-winning wines while enjoying the mountain views and the vineyards of Stellenbosch.

Franschhoek
Our last and final stop is at the amazing Franschhoek, well known as the Wine and Gourmet capital of South Africa, and has among its truly talented chefs several of who have been awarded the highest national and international culinary honors. Franschhoek can be loosely translated to French corner, an area which was given to the French huggenots of the 1680s to grow vineyards. Surrounded by the Drankenstein mountains, when you are in Franschhoek, you could be anywhere near the world. Colonial whitewashed buildings grace the vibrant streets of the food capital city of South Africa. A behive of shopping, Beligian chocolate tasting, and the very best place to have lunch, it has more than 40 restaurants. For Honeymooners, Franschhoek is a perfect place to spend time with your special companion.
